What is the WiSE EXPO all about?
One of the highlights of our conference is the WiSE EXPO, which will showcase science and engineering student groups and STEM-related organizations and their activities/interests.
We are actively seeking STEM organization participation in the conference and invite you to develop and present a hands-on activity or engaging demonstration for conference attendees. Activities should be geared toward participant inclusion and participation. This is your group’s opportunity to showcase and share the wonderful world of STEM with the conference attendees!
How can my organization participate?
The EXPO will be held in the morning on the day of the conference (Friday, March 8) in the LBJ Student Center. The EXPO will run from 10:00am-11:30am.
Each organization will have a 6-foot table reserved for your group's interactive, hands-on science or engineering activity. In addition, we ask that you display a poster with the name of your organization and institution. It can include (but is not required) pictures, stories, and fun information about your organization. All EXPO exhibitors have a chance to win a People's Choice Award (cash prize)!
Please Note: Participation in the EXPO is free for the team members who are staffing your EXPO table.
However, if you and/or any of your EXPO team members want to participate in the full conference (other than the EXPO), each individual will have to register and pay the $15 conference registration fee.
Special note: Our EXPO space will fill up quickly! Organizations who wish to participate in the EXPO must register by no later than Friday, February 22. If our EXPO space fills up before February 22, we may not be able to accept late EXPO registrants.
